Dr. Neil Bray

Dr. Neil Bray qualified as a chiropractor in July 2001 after 5 years of full time study at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth. Neil has a BSc. (Hons) in Human Sciences, an MSc. in Chiropractic and a postgraduate diploma in Chiropractic. He is a member of the British Chiropractic Association, The College of Chiropractors and is registered with the General Chiropractic Council.

Neil was born in Cornwall and raised on a dairy farm. He had planned on a career in agriculture, but after completing two years of volunteer work in Scotland in his late teens and early twenties, Neil decided that he would prefer to work in a community setting. Neil married Carys in 1995 and after he qualified as a chiropractor they returned to her native Southport. Neil and Carys have 4 children.

As a young man Neil was treated by a chiropractor following a neck injury. He was impressed by the treatment and arranged to spend some time observing the chiropractor before making the decision to embark on 5 years of study. "I like the idea of being able to make a difference to people's lives". Neil says. "When someone walks into the clinic in pain it is intensely satisfying to see them walk out feeling vastly better and to eventually see them get back to normal. I enjoy that aspect of my job most, but it's also fascinating to meet so many different people with such varied experiences of life, every day of the week. I'm really lucky to have such a rewarding job".

Neil is keen to maintain a gimmick-free, patient-centred practice. "I don't believe in bulk selling treatments to patients, encouraging them to pay up front for appointments that they may not need. Most of the patients I see can expect a significant improvement within 3 to 6 treatments. I am not a salesman, as anyone who knows me will testify - I aim to get my patients better as fast as I can, that way I'm happy and so are they. I try and give my patients at least 15 minutes per treatment during which time they have one to one attention. I like to practise in this way, it gives me an opportunity to get to know my patients and to adapt the treatment to meet their individual needs."
